Suitability:
Cork flooring is an excellent choice for residential
installations. Not only is it one of the most durable
floors available but it is also extremely easy to maintain and
good looking. Cork is an excellent choice in kitchens,
living rooms and hallways. It is also great in bathrooms
as it is warm to the touch (great on bare feet!). Kids
and pets are no problem either - Expanko Cork tile's
resilience and LS polyurethane finish mean your floors are
protected for years of service.
Elegance
Subtle yet striking, Expanko cork floors prove that you
can buy good taste. Vallares is available in a variety
of unique patterns made with 100% cork.
Quality
Since 1945 Expanko, a family owned company, has been a
mark of quality in natural floor coverings. Expanko
continues this tradition with our Vallares floating floors.
Vallares is made from the highest quality cork and wood
components and all raw materials are environmentally friendly,
creating a safe living environment. Vallares is coated
with Expanko's exclusive LS™
water-based finish which will offer
years of wear and exceeds all industry durability standards.
Comfort
Created with a resilient wear layer and acoustical cork
backing, Vallares is both quiet and comfortable. Because
of the unique insulating properties of cork, the surface will
feel warm to the touch - particularly important for those who
prefer to be shoeless.
Versatility
If you thought hardwood, vinyl and ceramic floors were
your only options, think again. Vallares can be
installed almost anywhere over existing hard surface floors as
well as plywood or concrete. Vallares is not recommended
in bathrooms or laundry rooms.
What is Cork?
Cork is the bark of the
Cork Oak tree. Grown in Spain and Portugal, the Cork Oak
has a life span ranging from 150-200 years. After the
first 25 years of growth, the tree is stripped of its bark for
the first time
using traditional hand labor methods. This process is
repeated every nine years henceforth, at no time affecting the
health of the tree. During each harvest, no more than
50% of the bark is removed, allowing the tree to protect
itself using its natural defenses.
During the manufacturing
process, all raw materials are consumed, either for the
finished flooring product or as an energy source.
Additionally, all recommended finishes, sealers, and adhesives
are water-based and environmentally friendly.
Not only does cork provide
one of the most durable, beautiful and comfortable floors
available, but it also helps conserve our precious natural
resources. When installed, cork provides a long lasting
floor, giving your interior a warm, natural look and feel.
